Jerusalem and Cheese Straws

Tuesday, 17 November 2009

I battled through rain and gales to reach an enthusiastic group at Capel St Mary Womens Institute. They ran through their AGM quickly including a valiant version of Jerusalem so that they could listen to the full version of my slideshow.

We had an interactive evening, with some members just about to head out on safari themselves. Perhaps Suffolk WI members should have their own private safari next year? I must get hold of the WI cheese straw recipe: they are delicious!

The Inner Wheel

Wednesday, 4 November 2009

Not heard of the Ipswich and Suffolk Club? Nor had I, despite working in the Ipswich area for over 25 years.

The Club provides a social and business meeting place for professional men and women. It is a lovely old building with reading lounges and excellent food was served in the lounge by its own top chef.

I presented Two Decades of African Safaris there last Tuesday evening courtesy of the ladies of the Ipswich and Suffolk Inner Wheel. Half an hour was not long enough to get across my experiences of travelling to Africa well over 40 times but perhaps they will invite me back for part two next year?
